Apple Music finally works with Amazon Alexa in Australia

5 months after the feature arrived on US Alexa devices, like the Amazon Echo Spot (pictured), Apple Music is now available on the platform in Australia.

While it hasn’t yet appeared in the Alexa iOS app (for me at least), you can set Apple Music up on the Alexa website at alexa.amazon.com.au under the Music & Books menu option.

The integration includes access to your iCloud Music Library, the Apple Music catalogue of playlists, radio and tracks, and also Apple’s 24/7 radio station Beats 1, among other features.

There’s an Apple Support page here, just in case you’re having problems setting it up. So far Apple is yet to integrate with Google’s Chromecast and Home platforms, though Apple’s current services push means other Apple apps are spreading slowly to non-Apple platforms, like the Apple TV app appearing on some Samsung Smart TVs. Airplay 2 is also launching on other third-party devices later this year.
