New: Frank Ocean— Endless / Blonde / Blond / Franke Oceane

Album / mixtape / visual album / music video / magazine — Frank Ocean’s four year silence now makes a lot of sense. The musician, who changed the game with his acclaimed first album Channel Orange, is finally back with a follow-up, titled Blond or Blonde, depending on where you look. Seriously though, the album’s cover says Blond while Apple Music says that the name is Blonde.

You can stream it here on Apple Music.

To clear up any other confusion here’s what Ocean has released in the past week, in chronological order.

Endless (visual album)

Endless is a 45-minute visual album, documented pretty extensively on Genius.com. To be clear too, this visual album features an entirely different tracklist to Ocean’s new release, Blonde, formerly known as Boys Don’t Cry.

Even though this isn’t the main course you shouldn’t miss this. It’s streaming on Apple Music:

"Endless" on Apple Music
Watch the music video "Endless" by Frank Ocean Free with an Apple Music subscription.

Otherwise I’d recommend hitting up your favourite “download” website for an audio-only version of Endless, even if you have Apple Music. The video is a bit hard to take with you.

Nike (music video / single)

The first music video from Blonde. There’s some nudity here.

Boys Don’t Cry (magazine)

Four pop-up stores are giving away copies of this magazine, featuring a poem on McDonalds by Kanye West and plenty more. Seriously.

The magazine also comes with a CD that may or may not have an alternate cut of the Blonde album.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around this, but I assume that means we now have Endless, a 45-minute visual album, Boy’s Don’t Cry, with a different tracklist to Blonde, and Blonde, the album streaming on Apple Music and iTunes.

Blond / Blonde (album)

Now for the main course.

Blonde / Blond, formerly known as Boys Don’t Cry, was meant to drop August 5 before a New York Times story ruined the surprise.

Now it’s finally out on Apple Music and iTunes. It’ll be an Apple exclusive for another two weeks. Listen here.
