Soundcloud Go email hints at Apple’s 30% in-app purchase cut, says desktop subscription is cheaper

It’s no secret that Apple takes a cut out of every App Store purchase, but Soundcloud still wants to remind users that their website is the cheapest way to get Soundcloud Go.

Here’s the email I got this morning:

Save a buck… or $2.99. Our records show you canceled SoundCloud Go. Just to confirm, you won’t get charged again and you’ve still got access to millions of tracks for free. If price was the issue, you can still sign up through SoundCloud on your desktop for $9.99/month instead of $12.99. That’s a free pizza at the end of the year. And everybody loves pizza!

So far Soundcloud Go, which gives you access to a bigger library as well as offline capabilities, is only out in the US. I signed up through a dodgy US iTunes account to try it out here in Australia. Not a Spotify-killer, but still super interesting. There’s some weird, cool shit on Soundcloud.
