Vox Media isn’t officially part of the NewFronts schedule with Hearst, Yahoo, Hulu and PopSugar, but they are still today showing off some new plans for the company.

The main news from the event:

  1. Vox.com’s Snapchat channel will turn into a Vox Media ‘big events’ channel that will only appear when something big is happening from one of its 8 verticals, including Polygon, The Verge and SB Nation. Separate Snapchat accounts will likely still run 24/7. The company will also be introducing a new studio dedicated to producing Snapchat content, with deals in place to show highlights from the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, for example.
  2. Vox’s real-estate website Curbed has begun production on eight half-hour episodes of a new cable TV series called ‘Prefabulous’, premiering on American network FYI.

TV, it seems, is still a great place for new media to cash in on their big new brands, and Vox Media wants in.
